Guild Ethos
Champions of Draenor is a casual but raiding guild. Of course, this leaves a lot open to interpretation so some expansion is necessary to explain what members should expect from the guild.
- Any Level / No Rush : We accept mature players (18+) into the guild regardless of their character level*. We do not expect them to level quickly unless that's how they enjoy playing the game. (* = When recruitment is open fully and not just for raiding needs)
- Get orf my land! : WE ARE NOT EPIC HUNTERS - Whilst everyone enjoys getting rare, epic, and even legendary drops we're not the guild to join if you expect to see us farming 7 nights a week just to make sure that everyone is covered in purple items. For us, the game is not about the loot. We will however, always try to offer assistance for someone trying to get that special item.
- PvP Guild: We are not a dedicated PvP Guild - this said, we are a guild that likes a bit of banter with the Alliance. Several of our members attend arenas and participate in PvP events; we also have special events organised on a regular basis (couple a month at least).
- Instances n Raids: Our member base consists of players of varying levels and experience. Going into 10+ man raid instances requires preparation, which in itself can be a lengthy and cumbersome exercise. All raids will be posted to the forum and sign up there is mandatory. Additionally, there will be times where impromptu raids will take place. These will occur when a Distinguished Member or above is on-line and sees that there suitable members also on-line sufficient to be able to get a run going. As long as there are sufficient healers and tanks to go, we will not dictate which classes can and cannot attend otherwise. We'll have a crack regardless of "best tactics" because the whole point is to have fun.
- Where's the fun in that?: Different people in WoW enjoy different playing styles; that's why we are not specifically forcing a certain play style upon a member. It's your account and your guild - enjoy yourself and try to organise events that you would enjoy by liaising with the staff team. Please do not moan that you are bored, or nothing ever goes on.
- Management of numbers: Eh? In a nutshell, population control. To prevent the guild from being too crowded or from attracting ninja members, the addition of new members to the guild is reviewed on a regular basis. Existing Guild members are welcome to create new alts and have them added to the guild (even when recruitment is closed). In all recruitment situations, positions will be advertised on our realm forums, on the guild forum and applications will only be accepted via the guild recruitment process. (Details elsewhere)
Hopefully the Guild ethos is summed up and it's clear that we're here to basically have fun, get some good items, batter the Alliance, and share our knowledge. If this does not meet with your personal expectations and you need a more "demanding" schedule or "active" game, then there are two things you should consider:
1. Can I do anything myself to organise an instance, heroic, PvP event, fun event etc?
2. Is this guild right for me? This option might seem harsh, but unfortunately, the guild is Chironous' and members need be accepting of how much time and effort it takes to maintain and run a guild at the same time as being able to enjoy the game yourself. No one likes to hear bitching, moaning, whining or hissy fits about how the guild should be run.
